By Priyanka Singh and Govind P. Rao | 31-01-2025 | Page: 123-126

Abstract

Integrating artificial Intelligence (AI) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) in sugarcane agriculture has revolutionized traditional farming practices by enabling precision agriculture. This correspondence highlights the potential of drone technology in enhancing sugarcane productivity through efficient pest and disease management, optimized fertilizer application, and accurate crop monitoring and yield estimation. AI-assisted UAVs provide real-time data on crop health, soil conditions, and nutrient deficiencies, allowing timely interventions and resource optimization. Additionally, using drone-based spraying systems ensures uniform application of agrochemicals, reduces environmental impact and minimizes labour costs. By leveraging these advancements, the correspondence underscores the transformative role of UAV technology in achieving sustainable sugarcane farming under subtropical conditions.
